- User-Generated Content:This encompasses all media you upload, including profile photographs, images posted within the application sourced from your device's gallery or camera, textual posts, group contributions, and confessions.
- Communication Data:All content generated through the use of our messaging, audio calling, and video calling features is processed. We explicitly do not record or store the content of audio or video calls; however, metadata associated with such communications (including duration, timestamps, and participant identifiers) may be retained for operational purposes.
- Technical and Device Information:We automatically collect specific data related to your device and interaction with our services. This includes your IP address, device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and diagnostic information such as application crash reports.
- Push Notification Tokens:We collect a unique device token to facilitate the delivery of push notifications to your device.

- Account Creation & Verification: To create and verify your account, ensuring only legitimate college students access the platform
- Service Delivery:To facilitate the core functionalities of the application, including connecting features, social networking, direct messaging, and audio/video communication.

- Communication:To transmit operational and promotional push notifications regarding connections, messages, groups, confessions, application updates, and special offers.
- Analytics: To understand how users interact with our app and improve our services

4.1 With Other Users
Your profile information (name, college, photos, hobbies) is visible to other verified users within the app. Your posts in the Feed section are visible to all users, while Confessions are only visible to users from your college.
4.2 With Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who assist us with:
- Cloud hosting and data storage
- Analytics and app performance monitoring
- Customer support services
- Email and push notification delivery
4.3 Legal Requirements

- Chat Messages: Retained until manually deleted by users
- Reported Content: Retained for up to 2 years for safety and legal purposes

SNEK is exclusively for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 16. If we discover that we have collected data from someone under 16, we will immediately delete their account and all associated information.
